Stig P since 1969

Stig P was founded in 1969 by Stig Petersen in Kronprinsensgade, Copenhagen. The store began with his own leather designs and gradually developed into an established fashion boutique, combining in-house collections with a carefully curated selection of international brands.

Today, Stig P is run by Stig’s daughter, Signe Sophie Kjer, who designs all Stig P styles. The business is now smaller and more focused than before, with full attention on the store, the webshop, and our own brand.

This allows us to work more closely with both design and production, and to develop collections at our own pace rather than following a fixed seasonal calendar.

We design with the idea of a long-term wardrobe. Many of our styles return in new materials and colours, as the fit and function are already established. This makes it possible to build on what you already own, rather than replacing it.

Made in Europe

Our collection is primarily made in Portugal and partly in Italy, in collaboration with smaller manufacturers we have worked with for many years.

These close relationships allow us to follow the process from first samples to finished garments, and to make adjustments along the way. It also ensures the level of quality and finishing we expect.

We produce in small quantities and only make what we believe we can sell. This helps reduce overproduction and keeps our assortment at a consistent and responsible level.

Deadstock

A large part of our styles are made using deadstock fabrics — materials that have already been produced but not used.

By working with existing fabrics, we avoid initiating new production when it isn’t necessary. At the same time, it gives us access to qualities and textiles that are no longer available.

Deadstock also means that each style is produced in limited quantities. Once the fabric is used, it is generally not possible to reproduce the same piece again.

This is a fundamental part of how we work — both in terms of material use and how the collection evolves over time.
